Here are the best of the photos from Haridwar. This was my favorite place in all of India - probably because of the Aarti ceremony on the Ganges. It was a total suprise and felt so "Indian". The bazaars were less crowded and friendlier and Haveli Hari Ganga was a great place to stay.

Hey I just stumbled across your blog and it's amazing! The pictures and places you visited are stunning! How do you plan such a trip? I'd love to go but quite frankly it's a bit intimidating.
Janelle - I've got to tell you that this is the most amazing trip we've ever been on. I don't have any experience with international travel and I was so afraid something would go wrong or we would hate it or that it wouldn't live up to expectations. I have a tendency to cram everything I can think of into our vacations (I want to get my money's worth!), but I deliberately took the attitude in advance that I would just go with the flow and not expect everything to be perfect. Best advice I can give - Lonely Planet guide to India and make sure you stay at good hotels (you really need to feel safe and be able to rest in peace and quiet with good food). This took 6-8 months of planning and we deliberately built in "days of rest" every 3 days or so. I'll be happy to give you names of places we stayed if you want them (they are also on the itinerary at the beginning of the blog). As you can tell, I'm an avid photographer and I'm rather pleased with some of the photos (we took 3000 & 6 hrs of video). Glad you enjoyed the site. Happy Trails!!!!!
