Delhi favorites #1

We were in Delhi 3 different times so we have lots of pictures. We'll post 3 different entries so you can look at them all. Delhi was wall to wall people (even at 3 AM), with incredible ruins in the middle of the city and a market place that was a hoot. Chandni Chowk (the market) was so much fun we went back a 2nd time - it's crowded, chaotic, loud, busy, with tangles of wires and masses of pedestrians, carts, rickshaws and motorcycles. It reminded us of New York in an odd sort of way because it was so crazy, but also very energetic. The first time we went thru Chandi Chowk, the 5 of us took an escorted historic walk given by INTAC. Vijay (our walk leader) was terrific and a very good story teller. You could tell he loved the city and loved bringing the history to life. The ads for this walk sound boring, but it's very, very interesting and fun. INTAC also offers an archeological walk in Mehrauli park - completely different since it's all ruins, but just as interesting with tons of photo ops.
